A short break… San Jose – Japantown signs

Here’s a local trip I made to San Jose Japantown this past Saturday. As long as I’ve lived in the Bay Area I have to admit that I’m not very familiar with this nearby city. I always thought (and still do) of this city as one that stands in the shadow of San Francisco. Although this small neighborhood seemed a bit quiet, it’s plaques and statues hinted at it’s storied past. Other than the fresh tofu maker, the shops and facades didn’t interest me much but the old signage did catch my eye.
